AARHUS KOMMUNE

“Through our international work, it has become clear that Danish companies have greater opportunities in international competition if they are working together to export the systems rather than individually to export their own products”.

As more than half of the world’s population lives in cities, cities play an important part as role models for sustainable green urban development. The city of Aarhus is already successfully using innovative solutions supplied by Danish businesses.  In Aarhus, we see it as our task to make it easier for companies to sell these superior solutions to other cities.

The hope is that increasing Danish companies’ turnover ultimately creates more jobs in Denmark and Aarhus. Aarhus has a great deal of experience with cooperation, especially with Chinese cities, and this experience can be useful for the project “Clean Solutions”. The cooperation has primarily been with the City of Harbin in North-East China.Starting back in 1984 when the first sister-city agreement was established, and especially since 2010, Aarhus has worked closely with both Harbin and Danish companies to promote contacts and exchanges between peoples, and economic and trade relationships between business.

Through our international work, it has become clear that Danish companies have greater opportunities in international competition if they are working together to export the systems rather than individually to export their individual products.
